5.) The Adventurer
One trait that has been consistent with each interpretation of The Doctor is his love of adventure. Some Doctors lived into this trait more than others, but one thing is certain - this is a fellow who will likely never retire to a quiet life of beekeeping and tea drinking. He craves adventure, and with the TARDIS, the next one is always at his finger tips.
This design takes some cues from Indiana Jones and his lot of vintage adventurers. Boots, leather jacket - I could see this Doctor riding a motorcycle or flying some alien aircraft into a monster-filled wilderness.
To break up the monotony of his color palette (and to reflect his youthful, jolly side) I would have this Doctor wear a rotating selection of brightly colored sweaters or shirts under his trademark jacket.
Always leaping from one exploit to the next, this Doctor’s embodiment of seize-the-day action is tempered by a deep nostalgia. Perhaps 12 understands his regeneration cycle is running out and is feeling the weight of past losses and the people he misses. Hence Amy’s glasses.
Instead of a “reboot” or “180” from the previous Doctor, this one is a deepening of the themes that have been developing from the past 7 seasons. He carries the previous incarnation’s sonic screwdriver, still, just as he perhaps carries some unfinished business with River Song, the Silence, and Clara.
