Things have gotten a bit too normal with the past two designs. Time to get a bit wibbly wobbly timey wimey…
6.) The Time Lord
Okay okay okay. There is no chance in hell that they are going to go down this road or probably any road similar to it. But hey - he is an alien, right? Maybe this Doctor picks up his sense of style from one of the other bajillion planets in the universe, and not contemporary Earth?? Maybe he has a trunk somewhere on the TARDIS filled with some sartorial hits from ol’ Gallifrey.
This outfit is a cross between the traditional Time Lord robes, as well as the outfits worn by the Chancellery Guard. You can’t really run from a Weeping Angel with 5 yards of baggy cloth flapping behind you. Actually, you can’t really run from a Weeping Angel period. But anyway, the point was to design something action oriented that still looked retro-alien and Gallifreyin’. He has pointy boots because I’m currently working on a Robin Hood comic and I’ve grown to like pointy men’s footwear.
So, enjoy a peak into an alternate universe where the Doctor Who designers go stark raving mad and alienate most of their contemporary viewers. But hey - just imagine Capaldi wearing this getup, for real. Awesome, huh?
